Dixie Cup Judging

First Round Judging

First round judging starts at 9 AM on Sunday, September 27, at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, continues 6 PM Tuesday, September 29, 9 AM on Sunday, October 4, and 6 PM Tuesday, October 6. Additional judging sessions will be held at 9 AM Sunday, October 11, and 6 PM Tuesday, October 13 at St. Arnold’s, as required. First round judging concludes at the hotel beginning at noon on Friday, October 16. The first round of judging will be used to eliminate obviously flawed beers and completely judge small categories.

Please note that the October 11 and 13 judging sessions will not be held if a sufficient number of flights are judged during the earlier sessions. The status of the October 11 and 13 judging sessions will be posted on the Dixie Cup web site and the Foam Rangers Events Calendar.

We intend to judge all sub-category styles together during the first round. This is not always practical when multiple sub-categories within an overall category have a small number of entries. For this reason, small sub-categories may be combined in the first round, with each beer judged according to its own style guidelines.

Second Round Judging

Second round judging will begin immediately following the milli-conference Saturday morning, at the hotel, and will be used to determine ranking within each category. All sub-categories of each major category will be judged against each other, each according to its own style guidelines.

Lunch will be provided to judges on Saturday afternoon to help you get through the judging.

Best-of-Show Judging

The Best of Show judging, consisting of the first place winners from each category, will take place at the hotel during the pub crawl.
